Bario salt is rich in natural minerals. The salt is made in Bario highlands, from spring water containing brine from salt springs found in villages of Pa Umor, Pa Bangar and Pa Main. The salt is dried over fire for 24 hours as it hardens within bamboo cases and wrapped in cylindrical form.
About Bario Asal: Bario Asal products are grown by farmers in Bario, in northeast Sarawak. The initiative aims to protect and promote traditional and organic farming practices and produce high quality food products. They also sell traditional Sarawakian accessories.
